Diana

Founder

Diana founded EduMais in 2016 motivated/inspired by the talents of the kids living in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro but horrified by the lack of opportunities for these kids to have access to quality and relevant education. Prior to founding EduMais, Diana worked for 4 years as a volunteer in different NGOs in Rio de Janeiro. Diana’s background is in HR and she holds a Msc Business Administration, and is educated in Positive Discipline and a peer mentor with lived experience of trauma. Diana is driven by creating programs that educate students in 21st century and employability skills and creating career opportunities. In her free time she likes to go to museums and hike in the surrounding mountains in Rio de Janeiro.

Ana Clara

Coordinator and Entrepreneurship Teacher

A student since age 11, post-graduation in 2023 Ana-Clara joined us as a brilliant entrepreneurship and Enter-the-labour market teacher in 2024. Driven by the prospect of giving other kids the same opportunities EduMais gave to her, Ana-Clara inspires the futures of her students through her kindness and humour. Her hard-working attitude is a further inspiration and leading example as she completes 2 university courses, Social Sciences and Human Resources at UFRJ and Estacio, respectively.

Thais

Coordinator and English Teacher

In 2018, aged 14, Thais arrived at EduMais to attend our summer camp. 4 years later she would later find herself working for the very camp she attended. As a dedicated coordinator and teacher, Thais plans lessons that the children will not only learn from, but enjoy. Thais also assists/travels with other kids on exchange to Camp Hazen in Connecticut, USA and expresses that the experience of learning from multiple points of view is what drives her dedicated work.

Henrique

Marcos

Serious Game Design, Gdevelop and Microsoft Office Teacher

Marcos’ first contact with EduMais was when he was 12 years old during our English classes. 7 years later Marcos is a valued and dedicated teacher, leading classes and being an inspiration for the students sitting where he once did. When asked what drives his work at EduMais, he states his passion for teaching and the passing of knowledge. Alongside being a teacher, Marcos is a talented Violinist!

David

English, Gdevelop and Serious Game Design Teacher

David first started classes with Edumais at 12 years old. After quickly gaining command of English, he joined as an assistant during our Summer camp courses before graduating high school in 2023. Since 2025, David has worked with us full time; bringing joy and laughter to every class he teaches. He often says his love of teaching and helping kids is what motivates his work at EduMais. When he’s not in a classroom you will likely find him on the beach playing volleyball!

Julia

English Teacher

Julia joined our entrepreneurship classes in 2024. After graduating high school, she taught in our summer camp before becoming a leading teacher for our English classes in Tabajaras. Her classes are filled with energy and movement, inspired by her passion for art and dance. She adores seeing the kids learning alongside her, and takes great pride in the feeling that she is passing something on to them, making a difference in their lives.

Jaqueline

Social Media

Jaqueline has been with EduMais since opening in 2016. At 15 she started English classes before becoming a valuable team member in 2021. At first assisting in our summer camps, her keen artistic eye progressed her to become our social media lead. Jaqueline says that her environment is what drives her to work hard, and she hopes that she can offer the same inspiration for EduMais kids. In November 2026, Jaqueline will begin her masters in Cross-cultural and Applied Linguistics at the University of Sydney.
